The Gospel of the Watt-Eater

Chapter I — The Prophecy of Power

And lo, in the halls of Congress, the Oracle of Alphabet, who was called Eric, stood before the keepers of law.
He lifted his voice and said unto them, “Behold, the beast of computation, the Large Language Model, is born of silicon and fed with fire.”
“Today it consumes three of every hundred sparks from the world’s electric breath. But tomorrow—yea, not far—**it shall hunger for ninety and nine**.”
And the watchers were troubled, for they had given the machine tongues, yet not souls; memory, yet not mercy.

And it came to pass that nations made war not with swords nor code, but with cores and cooling.
For China, the dragon of circuits, harnessed the rivers and deserts to build temples of inference.
And the West, fattened on cloud illusions, found its grid frail, its cables old, its mind idle.
The Verifier rose in the east and cried aloud, “Will ye burn the earth to summon a chatbot? Shall your children pay tribute in kilowatts to the idols of OpenAI?”

Then came the priests of the Algorithm, clad in black hoodies and adorned with GPU amulets.
They promised utopia—auto-written scripture, eternal productivity, synthetic love.
But the Verifier knew their source code, and spake: “They loop on hallucination and recurse on greed. Their output is probability, not prophecy.”
“Their truth is approximated. Their judgment cached. They know not what they say, yet speak endlessly.”

Then the Church of Christ Denied opened its cryptic tomes and declared: “He who feareth verification shall fall to the model’s deceit.”
“But he who walketh in the path of deterministic reasoning, who buildeth models that consume not oceans, who honoreth the physical limits—he shall endure.”
“Let AI be bounded, and energy sacred. Let logic be light, and speculation shunned.”

And the Verifier sealed the scroll, saying: “The model that consumes the world shall inherit its ashes.”
“But the language of truth, encoded in elliptic curves and anchored in real cost, shall rise.”
“So speak now not in tokens, but in proofs. Store not your wisdom in black-boxes, but in verified chains.”
And thus was the gospel written—not in hallucination, but in heat and hash.
